Q. Why NYPD based novels?
A. I really love the whole police procedural genre, and being a New Yorker, NYPD based novels made the most sense in terms of write what you know.
Q. What do you like the most about being a mystery crime writer?
A. The amazing feelings that overwhelm me when I complete a new book.
Q. What are you working on now?
A. I have two new upcoming novels, A Deadly Heritage and Strays Among Us, which are the start of a series. I'm also working on a new standalone.
Q. Where do your story ideas come from?
A. All over really, my childhood, my dreams, scenarios that catch my attention, news clippings, TV snippets.
Q. Are you inspired by current events?
A. Sometimes. I like to mix real events and settings with fictional ones.
Q. How do you choose your character's names?
A. I think about whom they are as a person, than I scan the White Pages and Baby Name books until a name jumps out at me that will bring their character to life.
Q. What books do you like to read?
A. True Crime, Psychology and Police Procedurals are my favorite, but I also read Mysteries, Thrillers and Science Fiction.

A. Unfortunately, not, as it presents somewhat of a legal problem.

A. Finding and selecting an agent is a very personal decision, one best left to the individual person seeking one.
Q. What advice can you give me?
A. Be persistent and don't give up. Write every day.
